At their annual meeting in San Diego this week American Farm Bureau federation delegates approved policy calling for immigration reform. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott Vanderwal says the resolution calls for treating unaccompanied minors the same as adults under immigration laws. He says there’s an urgent need to get the reform measure passed in Congress and signed by the President.
Vanderwal says the cost of not reforming immigration will be astronomical.
Vanderwal says Farm Bureau agrees with Congressional Republicans in that the border needs to be controlled and secure. He says however that can be accomplished as well as providing for a sound and stable agricultural work force.
