The new Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Texas Congressman Kevin Brady shares House Speaker Paul Ryan’s view on the need for tax reform. That’s good news for agriculture according to Jordan Dux, National Affairs Coordinator for the Nebraska Farm Bureau. He’s hoping that’ll push Congress to get the tax extender’s package approved sooner than at the end of the year.
He says his group backs reforming the entire tax code but says that needs to be done carefully and thoughtfully.
Dux says overall tax reform will take some time and he’s hoping Section 179 expensing is retained with whatever type of reform eventually passes.
Representative Brady believes America needs a simpler, fairer and flatter tax code that’s built for growth. He also supports eliminating the estate tax.
