Farm Bureau Official Says House Leaders Need To Bring USMCA Up For A Vote

The latest indications are that the vote on ratifying the USMCA trade agreement could get pushed into 2020. Earlier House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she was hopeful they’d get a vote before Christmas, now she’s saying it’s doubtful it’ll be passed this year. That’s concerning to Jordan Dux Director of National Affairs for the Nebraska Farm Bureau.

He says if the USMCA isn’t brought up until 2020, that’s an election year which slows things down even more in Congress.

Dux says the House Leadership and all members of Congress need to get the politics out of the way and do what’s best for the American people which is ratifying the USMCA.

The clock is ticking on getting anything done this year on the USMCA as the House only has eight days of official session left in the 2019 calendar year.
