Tuesday’s opening of the South Dakota Legislature began with the Governor’s State of the State Address. South Dakota Farm Bureau Lobbyist Mike Held says he was pleased with the Governor’s remarks and his commitment to agricultural economic development.
Held says besides working with the Governor on future ag economic development this session, farm bureau will also be trying to find a fix to the flooded private lands issue that surfaced last session.
He says while they’ll be monitoring what happens with the ag land valuation formula it’s not a priority for his group this session.
