State Farm Bureau leaders were in Washington D.C. last week working on a number of issues. Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson says one of the priority measures they were weighing in with lawmakers is the need for a national biotech labeling standard.

He says they’re backing Congressman Mike Pompeo’s bill which is a voluntary labeling measure that would cover all the bases.

Nelson says the state by state rules are not working and just creating confusion for producers and consumers.
