Farm Bureau Leader Wants To Work With New President On Trade

Even though the Trans Pacific Partnership is dead in its current form, Nebraska Farm Bureau President Steve Nelson is hoping to see trade expansion. He says he’s willing to work with President Elect Donald Trump in whatever trade deal he can secure that will help U.S. agriculture.

He says trade is becoming even more important for America’s farmers and ranchers given the current state of the depressed farm economy.

Nelson says his group is not opposed to bilateral trade agreements that the new President may pursue.

Recently former House Majority leader Eric Cantor speculated Trump may seek to negotiate bilateral deals with other TPP countries.
