The American Farm Bureau Federation is joining groups asking for the biodiesel tax credit to be restored retroactively for 2018 and extended for 2019. AFBF Vice President Scott VanderWal says the tax credit is positive for agriculture, the environment, the biodiesel industry and consumers.

He says Congress needs to move quickly to approve the measure and making it permanent law would be a good idea.

VanderWal says the biodiesel tax credit is important because it gives the industry certainty.

VanderWal says if the tax credit is approved retroactively for 2018 and extended for 2019 it will also help the rural economy at a time when it needs a boost.
