A pair of measures supported by the South Dakota Farm Bureau are moving in the State House and Senate Taxation committee this week. Senate Bill 7 passed out of the Taxation Committee. Farm Bureau Lobbyist Mike Held says that clarifies the standards for classifying ag land for tax purposes.
He expects that measure to clear the full Senate.
Held says House Bill 1038, which passed the House, repeals the requirement for farm corporations to file a report with the State Secretary of State’s office.
Held says that lessens cost and unneeded paperwork by only requiring one report.
