Farm Bureau Backed Bills Moving Through Minnesota Legislature

Several pieces of legislation supported by Minnesota Farm Bureau members are progressing in the state legislature. Farm Bureau Public Policy Director Amber Hanson Glaeser says one of the tax issues their focused on is making sure federal paycheck protection program loans aren’t subject to state taxes.

She says they’re also working for a pair of infrastructure issues, one supporting the bill that calls for mandating E-15 use and the other funding for broadband and expanding that.

Glaeser says they’re also supporting measures to fund meat processing, wolf and elk depredation and agricultural research.

Glaeser says most legislative committees are in the middle of reaching deadlines so that’s prompting more movement on legislation.
