The American Farm Bureau Federation and a coalition of other groups are asking a U.S. District Court in Texas to throw out the Obama Era Waters of the U.S. rule. That regulation is in effect in 26 states including Iowa and Minnesota. The rule is not in effect in 24 states including South Dakota, North Dakota and Nebraska. Iowa Farm Bureau President Craig Hill says there are several problems with the Obama Era regulation.

He says the Obama WOTUS needs to be put on hold while a new rule is formulated by the EPA.

Hill says the cost of not complying with the Obama Era WOTUS rule is astronomical.

Hill says the EPA has scheduled next March for formulation of the new WOTUS rule. He says they were hoping that would have been out last month or this month for comment.
