The American Farm Bureau has asked a federal court in Georgia to issue a national injunction on the 2015 Waters of the U.S. rule. The regulation is on hold in 28 states and active in 22. One of those where it’s active is in Minnesota. Minnesota Farm Bureau President Kevin Paap says the national injunction is needed to end any confusion and so everyone’s on the same page with the regulation.
He says it also makes sense to put the 2015 WOTUS on hold as the rule is being rewritten by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Paap says the 2015 WOTUS negatively impacts not just agriculture but mainly private property.
WOTUS 2015 while active in Minnesota is on hold in South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska and North Dakota.
