Nebraska Farm Bureau Chief Administrator Rob Robertson testified in front of the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee this week. He told the panel that necessity drove the development of their new Association Health Plan to help farmers and ranchers suffering from unaffordable and increasing health insurance costs.

He says their first of its kind health insurance program has saved farmers and ranchers on their health insurance costs.

Robertson says by being able to pool farmers and ranchers into a larger group helps spread the health insurance risk thus making it more affordable and accessible.

Robertson says their Association Health Plan has also been effective in protecting farmers and ranchers from Pre Existing Conditions which is one major issue the Ways and Means Committee was looking at.
