The top issue for National Farmers Union members at their convention this week in Kansas City is the new Farm Bill. Iowa Farmers Union President Aaron Lehman says producers need a solid farm safety net to help them weather economic challenges.
He says another priority for their members is making sure conservation programs work effectively for farmers and ranchers.
Lehman says agriculture also needs effective trade policy and they’ll be pushing Congress and the Administration for to achieve that.
Lehman says their Iowa delegation is well represented at the NFU Convention and two of their members will be leading a pair of workshops at the meeting.
