A group of over 100 farm and business leaders across Nebraska and 6 other states have written to Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue and EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt asking for year round use of E15. Kelly Brunkhorst, Executive Director for Nebraska Corn who’s also a member for Growth Energy say they’re asking Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue to push the EPA to allow that year round use of E15
He says they want the EPA Chief to put forward an emergency rule that would lift the Reid Vapor Pressure restriction leading to the allowance of E15 year round.
Brunkhorst says having year round E15 use will benefit more than just ethanol plants, it also helps farmers and the overall economies of all 7 Midwest states.
Brunkhorst says the farm and business coalitions want all ethanol restrictions lifted that are hampering the rural economies of the seven Midwest states.
States included are: Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin.
