It used to be that the Labor Day weekend wrapped up the camping season around the region. Not so much anymore.
Jeff Van Meeteren, Regional Supervisor for the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Department, says he has seen the changes at his home park, Lewis & Clark State Recreation Area…….

Van Meeteren says they survey campers about what they like about their stay at the park…..

The park is normally full every weekend from Memorial Day to the middle of September. Van Meeteren says they are looking at another expansion plan….

The park now has about six hundred thirty camping sites available.
