Thousands of consumers took in the new Pipestone Discovery Barn during the opening weekend of the Sioux Empire Fair. Pipestone Holdings Director of Public Relations Sylvia Wolters says the reaction was positive and she believes the barn is helping make inroads with the public about modern agriculture and the care farmers take to produce food.

The barn was busy all weekend with interactive games and agricultural demonstrations.  However, Wolters says the animals were still the most popular with fairgoers.

The Pipestone Discovery Barn is open daily during the fair from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
