With spring approaching in the Northern Plains and calving season just getting underway, producers are reminded to keep a sharp eye out for young people on farms and ranches. SDSU Extension Youth Farm Safety Specialist John Keimig advises not to have young people out during the middle of calving.

He also says to keep the youngsters away from the grain bins.

Keimig says it’s also best not to let the young people ride on tractors.

Keimig says also to watch out for young people in the farm and ranch yards because there have been past instances where the kids have been run over.
