Green Plains Incorporated of Omaha and Kaapa Ethanol Holdings LLC have made offers to purchase four of Abengoa Energy’s ethanol plants. Nebraska Ethanol Board Administrator Todd Sneller says that’s a positive development not only for those companies but for the entire state of Nebraska.
He expects the offers made by the two Nebraska ethanol plants will be accepted and that the sales will be approved.
Sneller says both KAAPA Ethanol Holdings and Green Plains Incorporated are very solid companies and have been great assets for Nebraska.
Green Plains owns and operates 14 ethanol plants, four grain companies and a feedlot while KAAP Ethanol Holdings owns and operates a 60 million gallon corn ethanol plant in Minden, Nebraska.
