The South Dakota Corn Growers Association held their annual meeting and resolution session on Saturday in Sioux Falls. President Troy Knecht says they dealt with cleanup language in their policy, as well as discussed resolutions on wetlands and E30. He says they support higher ethanol blends, but defeated the E30 proposal because the association is taking a different pathway to get expand ethanol use.
He says another resolution was offered to change how wetland determinations are made, but was ultimately defeated because it would have eliminated the link to conservation compliance.
In fact, Knecht says they’ve developed an important alliance with conservation groups to gain support for the farm bill.
The Association also discussed their support for a bill that’s being proposed in the state legislature to fund the Precision Ag Building at SDSU.
