The community of Ethan, South Dakota is benefitting from the Verdesian Life Sciences Performance Guarantee Giveaway. Vice president of sales in plant nutrition Dave Schwartz says ag retailer CHS Farmers Alliance Co-op won $30,000 as part of the program to spend on local community causes.

He says the monetary prize will go far in Ethan as it was divided amongst five different community programs, including $8,000 to upgrade the baseball diamond park, $10,000 for the public school, $5,000 for the city, $4,000 to complete the American Legion memorial park, and $3,000 to fund children’s art classes and other needed resources at the community center.

He says the program was a way to introduce the company and prove to growers Verdesian’s commitment to providing solutions that are sustainable and profitable.

Schwartz says in such a small town like Ethan the donations will have a real impact on the lives of all the residents and visitors.
