Through a proposed settlement with the American Petroleum Institute and the American Fuel and Petrochemical Manufacturers, EPA is set a schedule for issuing RFS volume requirements. API’s Bob Greco says his group is pleased the agency is moving ahead to release final annual volume standards for 2014 and 2015 by the end of the year, but that they should have had those out sooner.

Greco says his group has been focused on the dates for getting the volumes out and not concerned yet about the process but does have expectations concerning those going forward.

He  says API is also working with Congress to get some type of overhaul of the Renewable Fuel Standard.
Under the proposed consent decree, EPA will issue final volume standards for 2014 and 2015 by the end of the year. They’ll also finalized the standards for 2016 this year and provide 2017 biomass diesel targets.
