Thursday, the Environmental Protection Agency repealed the Obama Era Waters of the U.S. rule. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says they were expecting the action and that it’s very positive for the nation’s farmers and ranchers.

National Cattlemen’s Beef Association’s Chief Environmental Counsel Scott Yager says while the repeal took some time, it confirms an earlier court ruling.

The Environmental group, Food and Water Watch is disappointed in the repeal and says the decision can be summarized in four words, no more clean water. VanderWal says that’s a blatant falsehood.

National Cattlemen’s Beef Association President Jennifer Houston says the 2015 WOTUS rule was an illegal effort by the federal government to assert control over both land and water, significantly impacting cattle producer’s ability to implement vital conservation practices.
