The Environmental Protection Agency and Army Corps of Engineers will hold a series of teleconferences to take public input on their rewrite of the Waters of the U.S. Rule. South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association President Larry Stomprud is pleased they’re asking for input and thinks it’s a refreshing change from the previous administration.

He says the agencies need to make sure whatever rewrite they come up with, it doesn’t involve an over reach of federal regulation like the proposed rule.

Stomprud says both the EPA and the Corps need to properly define navigable waters and follow up with their rewritten regulation.

The WOTUS rewrite teleconference for agriculture is scheduled for Tuesday October 17. Registration information can be found on the EPA’s website.
