EPA Head Will Move Proposed Rule Forward

More than 230 House members are calling on the Administration to withdraw its rule expanding its jurisdiction under the Clean Water Act. However, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency Gina McCarthy says their proposed rule regarding Waters of the U.S. needs to be moved forward, but based on science. Meeting with farm broadcasters in Washington D.C. she says the rule is not intended to take away farmers ability to farm.
McCarthy says this proposed rule does not expand the scope of the waters EPA traditionally regulated.
She says if a permit wasn’t required before the rule it will not be required after the rule and any further regulations will be based on science.
