EPA Head Hints At Higher RFS Levels

Last week speaking in New York, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy hinted that the 2014 Renewable Fuel Standard volume requirements will come out soon. She also said they’ll likely be higher than the agency proposed earlier. Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis says most people are expecting higher volume levels when the rule comes out.
Buis says it’s important the volume levels support the standard and that the method used in achieving that is the proper one.
Buis says the actual volume number is the second most important part of the decision. He says it’s critical EPA not go backwards from the 2013 levels of 14.4 billion gallons.
