EPA has extended the public comment period on their proposed Waters of the United States Rule. The agency says their rule is intended to clarify the Clean Water Act. The new extension deadline for comments is now November 14. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott Vanderwal says EPA is getting so much heat over their proposal that may ag and non ag groups alike now are making their views known they don’t like the proposal.
Vanderwal says he’s pleased the agency has granted more time for comments.
Vanderwal says EPA’s proposal is far outside the intent of the 1972 Clean Water Act.
