EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt reiterated the President and Administration support the Renewable Fuels Standard, despite the 40 hardship waivers granted to refiners in 2016 and 2017 totaling 1.6 billion gallon. Pruitt says the waivers are not subjective and aren’t eroding the Renewable Fuels Standard.

However, he doesn’t refute that a RIN cap is still being explored by the Administration to stabilize RIN prices.

Pruitt says there is a laundry list of actions the Administration has done in the last year that prove they back the RFS and biofuels.

He says they are also hoping to get Reid Vapor Pressure relief soon, so E15 can be sold all year.
