Denver-based environmental organization Green Corporation has launched a campaign called Mighty Earth. As part of their agenda the group wrote to Tyson Foods CEO Tom Hayes asking the company to change its feed sourcing practices, by only sourcing feed from sustainable agricultural operations. Michael Greenberg is with Green Corporation.

Green Corporation released their campaign while in Nebraska, where Costco recently put up a chicken processing plant in Fremont and Tyson is looking at possibly relocating their Tonganoxie, Kansas plant to Nebraska. Greenberg says his group did receive a response from Tyson to their recent letter.

Greenberg says they’re hoping to persuade Tyson to change their sourcing practices by applying public pressure to the company.

Greenberg says as the nation’s largest meat company, Tyson Foods has a key role to play in keeping waters clean and soils healthy.
