Farmers and Ranchers and Landowners can now apply to enroll in the Conservation Reserve’s Grassland’s Program until August 20. Bobbie Kriz Wickham with the USDA’s Farm Service Agency State office in Nebraska says CRP Grasslands is a voluntary program designed to take environmentally sensitive ag land out of production and in exchange gives producers a rental payment.

She says CRP Grasslands like the general CRP is a very popular working lands program.

Wickham says FSA works with NRCS in helping applicants with CRP Grasslands.

Wickham says it’s best to call your local USDA Service Center for an appointment to enroll. She adds that you can also contact them via phone or e-mail for assistance.
