The Farm Service Agency Administration is reminding producers the deadline to sign up for enrollment in the Conservation Reserve Program is Friday August 17. South Dakota State FSA CRP Coordinator Owen Fagerhaug advises those interested in signing up to have their CRP plans laid out when they enroll.
He says FSA is using NASS data for this continuous sign up program and a one year extension will be offered to existing CRP participants with expiring contracts of 14 years or less. Fagerhaug says there will be no incentive payments offered.
Fagerhaug says most of the CRP practices accepted into this enrollment are on wetlands.
He says much of the interest is on duck nesting and farmed wetlands programs. Fagerhaug advises you call your local county FSA office for an appointment to enroll.
