The U.S. Energy Department has released the results of a compilation of several studies that show mid level ethanol blends, E 25 and E 40 could offer significant benefits for the United States. Renewable Fuels Associations Senior Vice President Geoff Cooper says these high octane ethanol blends are positive for the country in a number of ways.
He says the studies show the fuel economies for the mid level ethanol blends match those of E 10.
Cooper says the energy department studies also show having the higher octane increases the energy content of the blend.
The studies also show improved vehicle efficiency, increased acceleration and major reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from the mid level higher octane ethanol blends.
