Employers Encouraged to Work With People With Disabilities

The South Dakota Department of Human Services has been sponsoring a number of programs around the state to mark October as “Disability Employment Awareness” month.
At an event in Yankton, Maria Flores, a program manager for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission talked about hiring a person with disabilities, and some issues employers may have………

Flores says many employers are worried about the costs that may be needed to make accommodations for those that may need assistance……

Flores says some people with disabilities may not want to attempt to look for a job……….

Flores says her office can work with any employer that may have questions about their responsibilities.
