Pierce Nebraska Elevator investors have one more day to submit a plan to the Nebraska Public Service Commission’s Grain Division for possible re opening. Grain Division Director John Fecht says his group met with investors and manager Brian Bargstad earlier this week.

Fecht says Bargstad and his group need to come up with around $ 6 million to pay off the bank and farmers, unpaid checks and grain delivered but not paid for. He says farmers who have new crop contracts should now make plans to market their grain elsewhere and should talk to Bargstad about that.

Fecht says the Public Service Commission will decide Friday how to proceed with the elevator investors on whether or not they’ll be able to reapply for licenses and possibly re open ornot.
