While most weather watchers expect an El Nino to develop in the Pacific Ocean, it appears to be taking its time.
An El Nino is warming of the surface waters in the ocean which have an impact on weather in North America.
B.J. Baule, Climatologist at Michigan State University, says some of the conditions are there…

Baule moderated the monthly north central region climate update.
He says they have tracked the effects of past El Nino’s….

Baule says much of the north central US can normally see warmer conditions…

Baule says that can also lead to more snow.
The El Nino is expected to fade away by early spring.
