Climate watchers are predicting that the current El Nino should continue to fade into fall.
An El Nino occurs when sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean warm and that impacts weather across North America.
Dennis Todey with the Midwest Climate Hub in Ames Iowa says there will be more changes as the El Nino fades away..
Todey says in a normal year, El Nino conditions would be good for crops….
Todey says with the El Nino going away, there is no indication yet of any early frost or freeze…
Predictions for the rest of July into August show normal to below normal temperatures for the northern plains, with normal to above normal precipitation.
