Educating current and future consumers about food and farming was a focal point of the South Dakota Farm Bureau Convention. As part of that the Women’s Leadership Team announced a new agricultural education book they authored. Chair Cindy Foster says it is targeted at preschoolers to third graders and for use in the classroom.

Food Network Chef Aaròn Sànchez also conducted a cooking demo and talked about the important role farmers play in supplying a safe and abundant food supply for consumers.

Sàchez says consumers and the public need to support agriculture, because farmers and ranchers are the backbone of the economy.

Sànchez is also the author of a new cookbook, a restaurant owner and a judge on the Food Network’s series Chopped.
