Economist Questions Economic Report

A recent report that shows the best and worst taxpayer return on investment places Nebraska at number two. Creighton University economist Dr. Ernie Goss says that same report shows Nebraska also ranks 49th for states with highest taxes so he isn’t putting too much value in that report. He says there are a lot of items considered that don’t apply here.

Goss says they also consider unemployment rate and Nebraska’s is consistently under the national rate. He says it has been that way for decades so that too isn’t a relevant factor

Goss says the entire state will suffer if we don’t get timely rain and grow a good crop.

Goss says all residents, not just farmers, should be monitoring drought risk this summer.
