Voting patterns have changed in Nebraska. More and more are voting early.
Secretary of State John Gale says early voting is underway in Nebraska, both through the mail and in person. About 18-percent of Nebraska voters cast an early ballot in the primary.
In the past, voters could only cast an early ballot through the absentee process, which required an excuse for why you couldn’t show up on Election Day. . .
Gale says states also will be encouraging more voting through mail as voting equipment ages and money becomes scarce to replace it. . .
Early ballots have been mailed to registered Nebraska voters. In-person early voting began this past weekend.
Mail-in voter registrations must be postmarked by October 17th. October 24th is the last day to register in person.
