What will be this year’s corn production look like? That question has many people wondering, especially since portions of the Midwest have suffered from hot and dry conditions. Professional Ag Marketing of Luverne, Minnesota, recently traveled across the corn belt to get an early estimate of the corn yield potential. Mike Minor, a market analyst with Professional Ag Marketing says they covered nine different states. Minor says the estimate shows a bit of reduction in yield from last year. Minor says northeast Nebraska, eastern South Dakota, southern Minnesota, and northwest Iowa are seeing the worst drought conditions. Eastern Iowa and western Illinois looks to have a good corn harvest.
