The plan this year is for South Dakota legislators to have an idea of revenue and spending at least two weeks before the end of the session.
Representative Jean Hunhoff of Yankton says that means they will have less current information to work with…
Hunhoff, a member of the Appropriations Committee, says that also means all the spending bills will have to be acted on earlier….
In the past, legislators would act on the budget and all spending amendments on the last day of the session. Hunhoff says they hope to avoid that this year….
Hunhoff says their committee will continue working through agency budgets in the next couple of weeks before they get to spending bills.
