Renewable Fuels Association officials say the partial federal government shutdown could delay the EPA’s rule making for year-round usage of E15. RFA President and CEO Geoff Cooper says despite that they’re cautiously optimistic E15 can get approved before the start of the summer driving season.
He says the shutdown has meant an already tight timeline has just gotten even tighter.
Cooper says if the rulemaking is to get done on time it’s important the government get back to work within the next ten days to two weeks.
Cooper says with the decade low ethanol margins, E15 would be a great shot in the arm for the industry.
