E-Verify Could be Required in Nebraska

E-Verify Could be Required in Nebraska

After last week’s immigration raids in Nebraska, State Senator Tom Brewer of Gordon says he will again introduce legislation requiring all employers to use E-Verify. That bill introduced in 2017 didn’t make it out of the Judiciary Committee. Brewer says it is a hard committee to get any legislation out of. He says it was his first committee briefing and a learning experience.

Brewer says this is an appropriate solution to the immigration raids that took place in Nebraska last week and protects workers.

Brewer says all private employees can use E-Verify at no charge. He adds there is no reason to keep an employer from using the service unless they want to intentionally hire illegal workers.
