The Summit League named South Dakota State’s Jordan Dykstra as its final player of the week of the season after the senior helped lead the Jackrabbits to a pair of wins in the final week of the regular season.

“Being the last weekend of his senior season, and playing at home that makes this even better. He played great for us and played like a senior should,” head coach Scott Nagy said. “It’s great that he’s being honored, because he averaged 19 and nine, and most weekends that’s going to earn you player of the week.”

Dykstra collected his third award this season after averaging 19 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals per game in a pair of Jackrabbit wins.

Against Denver on Thursday, Dykstra scored 19 points, pulled down eight rebounds, dished out three assists, with three steals and a blocked shot. He shot 57.1 percent on 4 of 7 shooting from the field, went from beyond the arc and 9 for 10 at the free throw line.

Facing rival South Dakota on Saturday, Dykstra recorded his league-high eighth double-double of the season with a 19-point, 10-rebound performance that also included three assists and one steal. He shot 55.6 percent from the field, 5 of 9, and 88.9 percent from the line, 8 for 9, in the regular season finale.

For the week, Dykstra recorded shooting percentages of 56.3 from the field, 50 from 3-point range and 89.5 at the free throw line.

Dykstra and the Jackrabbits open play at The Summit League Championships on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. in the Sioux Falls Arena as the No. 3 seed, and play No. 6 seed Western Illinois.
