South Dakota senior guard Ciara Duffy has been named as one of 10 semifinalists for the inaugural Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award.
The Becky Hammon Award presented by Her Hoop Stats recognizes the nation’s best mid-major player in women’s basketball. Hammon spent 16 years playing in the WNBA and her last eight with the San Antonio Stars, where her number was retired in 2016.
Duffy and Hammon share the same hometown in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The 2020 Summit League Preseason Player of the Year, Duffy’s senior campaign has her averaging more than 17 points, six rebounds and five assists per game.
