Yankton Police Chief Brian Paulsen says the preliminary autopsy report on six year old Lincoln Hilt is accidental death by drowning. He sent out a short news release this afternoon.
The young boy was last seen on the dock at Riverside Park in Yankton during the evening of Sunday April fifth.
Police were notified about 7:30 that evening that he was missing and a search began.
Hilts body was found by divers last Friday afternoon in about twenty five feet of water about two hundred feet downstream from the dock.
Numerous search and rescue personal from South Dakota and Nebraska took part during the week.
A memorial service for Lincoln Hilt was held at Riverside Park last Saturday evening.
