South Dakota election officials sent absentee ballot requests to all registered voters ahead of the June primary to provide options in casting ballots.

Despite the concerns about absentee ballots and mail in voting, Barnett says he didn’t hear of any problems from county auditors….

Turnout for the primary was just over twenty eight percent. There are currently five hundred forty-six thousand registered voters in the state.
