Nebraska State Senator Jeremy Nordquist of Omaha is working on legislation that would allow certain illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses in Nebraska. Nordquist says this falls directly under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

Nordquist  says it only applies to those here on June 15, 2012 – period.

Nordquist says these individuals must meet other requirements to qualify. Those include no criminal history and have met the requirements for education and military service.
