Brian Dozier says he will be fine despite having to leave Wednesday’s game in Toronto early with a back injury.

The Twins second baseman left the game in the fourth inning after a collision with shortstop Eduardo Nunez while trying to catch a pop fly. He reported lower back tightness but says he expects to be in the starting lineup Friday when the Twins play in Detroit.

Dozier says he first noticed the tightness on Tuesday and blames the artificial surface at Rogers Centre in Toronto as contributing to the problem.
