A man was shot by Yankton Police last night after a domestic disturbance call and search.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley and Yankton County States Attorney Rob Klimisch, in a release, say 19 year old Trae Allen Angel of Yankton was shot by Officer Jason Foote about 10pm last night in downtown Yankton.
A one block area of Third Street, between Pine and Capitol Streets was barricaded overnight.
Yankton Police responded to a 911 disturbance call involving a gun at a residence. The subject was not at that home, and a search began that involved a number of officers from multiple agencies.
The search ended in an alley in downtown Yankton where the suspect was shot.
He was taken to Avera Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Jackley says the Division of Criminal Investigation will issue a report on the shooting within thirty days.
