Doubts About Claims in White House Fact Sheet on Infrastructure Legislation

The White House put out a fact sheet on Wednesday that says the recently passed infrastructure legislation will improve the supply chain. Iowa Soybean Association President Robb Ewoldt says he doesn’t see any quick fixes to the supply chain issues being faced in the U.S. and around the world.

He thinks it would be more advisable to get people back to work with labor crisis effecting so many industries.

Ewoldt says it will take time to get exports moving efficiently and the backlogs at the port cleared up. He’s hopeful the funding in the infrastructure bill will help with that.

The White House Report also states there are no U.S. airports that rank in the top 25 of airports worldwide and none of the U.S airports or ports themselves rank in the top for efficiencies. The infrastructure bill provides $17 billion for ports and waterways and $28 billion for airports.
